Residents in Fairfield, Connecticut are being treated to quite an event.
According to News 12, construction crews are assembling a multimillion-dollar modular home in town on North Benson Road.
The home is so large, with 18 sections, that each of them was brought in and dropped into place by a crane.
The construction company on the project says that the modular process cuts down on build time, which in this instance saved four months.
Local realtors say that they believe pre-built luxury homes are a new trend that’s going to explode.
“Oh my gosh, you’re watching the crane and the wires… then it’s like take a deep breath,” said one of the neighborhood residents.
“We’ve been excited this whole time and we couldn’t wait for today.”
PPG Properties is working on the project.
“There’s an unjustified bias against a custom modular construction, but I think that trend is beginning to turn a little bit,” said a real estate agent on site.
In just a matter of hours, the site went from a foundation to a home in place. With extra trim work and appliance installation, the home should be move-in ready by May.
