Cruz Lights Up Houston Trump Rally, in Key Race in Manufactured Housing Leading State of Texas

It is the number 1 state in the union for manufactured home production and sales. What happens in Texas impacts much of the United States. MHProNews has noted that affordable housing is ideally a bipartisan issue, or perhaps more appropriately, a non-partisan issue. But that doesn’t mean that others treat it that way.

Texas and California are periodically compared by economic, political and other talking heads, because they are both resource rich, large populations, but work quite differently.

If there were a so-called “blue wave,” it would have to pass through Texas.

Congressman Beto O’Rourke (TX-D) has drawn record sums, much of it from deep pocket donors, and has had significant media hype. Democrats have salivated for years with the hope of turning Texas from GOP Red to mixed purple, and then into Democratic Blue.

But in spite of the money and hype, polling has slipped away from O’Rourke, and has been moving steadily toward Senator Cruz in recent polling, which shows Cruz up by single digits.

Former President Barack Obama may be the biggest draw for Democrats today. The fact that former VP Joe Biden, former POTUS Obama, former FLOTUS Michelle Obama are on the campaign trail all suggests less confidence in the midterms that Democrats project. Turnout for those headliners in venue after venue is far short of what attendance is at Trump rallies. The same pattern held in 2016, which resulted in a Trump upset victory.

KTRK said that 24 hours before last night’s Trump-Cruz rally in Houston, there were people already lined up.

The video below reflects those lined up, cheering and waving, as they wait to spend time with President Donald J. Trump.  Photos and video during the event reflected a packed Toyota Center, with thousand more outside.  Over 100,000 RSVP’d to attend the rally.  They came from as far away as California, according to KTRK.

Senator Ted Cruz (TX-R) and POTUS Trump were the last two standing in the GOP presidential primary in 2016.  It was bruising. Then candidate Trump hung the moniker “Lying Ted” on the GOP Senator, for exaggerating some of his positions during the race. But last night, President Trump said that they have worked well together, he’s had no better supporter in the U.S. Senate, and now he is “Texas Ted.”

For those not familiar with the story of Peter denying Jesus three times, and Peter later affirming his faith three times, last night had a similar tone.  Cruz went on stage before the president. Cruz praised POTUS Trump several times, and the two had a vigorous hand shake when president strode up to trade places with Cruz.  The president returned the favor, praising Cruz on several issues during his talk, while blasting Beto O’Rourke has having an F rating from the NRA, supporting higher taxes, open borders, and eliminating ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).

Cruz and POTUS Trump reflect the reality that the president not only can, but has mended fences with several former opponents.  Recall that he named Nikki Haley to be the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, after she had ripped him during the 2016 campaign.

But success heals old wounds.

The economy is proving the wisdom of President Trump’s economic principles.

Those principles are in part the reason why the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) supported S. 2155 passed the House and Senate onto the 45th President’s desk to be signed.  By contrast, President Obama threatened to veto the MHI backed Preserving Access to Manufactured Housing Act, had it ever made it through the Senate during his term in office.

As MHProNews has alone spotlighted in industry trade media, MHI has big money personalities have turned on former Preserving Access backers, favoring their Democratic opponents instead.  See the related reports, further below.

Whatever you think of how the CEOs of major companies use their money, they’ve given robustly to candidates on either side of the political fence.  Trade groups often do similarly.

There are those who cringe at a political topic in a trade publication, but it is a demonstrable reality in business decisions.

Per Senator Rand Paul (KY-R) this morning, early voting in 7 of 8 states show a surge of Republicans over Democrats.

Early voting including major manufactured housing shipment states such as Texas, or Florida.  In Florida, 1 million have already voted by mail, per 1430 AM.  The Daily Business News will blend some political items along with other industry topics, right through the midterms, which are now just 2 weeks away.  The domestic and foreign policy are beginning to return to a semblance of sanity, and the economy and markets are responding positively.

While there will be turbulence between now and November 6, the clarity of a red-tide on November 7 will likely send the markets soaring, much as it did in 2016.  The screen capture above reminds us. “That’s news through the lens of manufactured homes, and factory-built housing,” © where “We Provide, You Decide.” © ## (News, analysis, and commentary.)
