Board Needs More info about Proposed MH/Modular Community

manuf home royal homes of raleigh nc creditThe Long County Board of Commissioners in Hinesville, GA are grappling with an application for a rural subdivision that Mike Allen wants to build, but it is unclear whether the new homes will be manufactured homes or modular homes, according to coastalcourier. Similarly, the board has little information about water lines and other utilities.

They distinguished between mobile homes, which “are those surrounded by blocks,” and modular homes which have a permanent foundation.

MHProNews has learned another issue, however, is that Bell Road, the site of the project, is a private road and only has 30 foot easements. The state requires 60 foot easements for a designated county road. Chairman Dwight Gordon said he does not want to set a precedent for paying to move mailboxes and other easement costs, if Bell Road becomes a designated county road. ##
