Sylvia was Born in Chicago, IL in 1913, to Austrian immigrants Herman and Rose Werner. Sylvia later married Leo Silver, and moved with him to Knoxville, TN. There she lived a busy life for more than 50 years; devoted primarily to community service until 2001, when she moved to Indianapolis.

Sylvia initiated purposeful projects. She raised one million dollars for Hadassah Hospital in Israel. She co-founded Fellowship Camp in 1950, which brought African-American and Caucasian children together, to learn and play during numerous summers.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, who died in 1975. She is survived by her children, Jane Timm (the late Michael) and Matthew Silver (Arlene), and David Silver (Jerilyn); as well as seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

MHProNews  know first hand that her son Matthew devotedly spent many hours weekly with his mother for years. We wish all those touched by the loss our sincere condolences. May she rest in peace. ##
