Arizona Proposal will Include Manufactured Homes

arizona mfg home trulia ceditA proposal to develop twenty acres of vacant land at the Kotzin Ranch just outside Tusayan, Arizona is set for affordable housing and will likely include manufactured housing. According to what grandcanyonnews tells MHProNews, the acreage is located at the southern tip of the Grand Canyon National Park, and the U. S. Park Service is assisting with road easement applications.

Councilman John Reuter says one of the reasons for the incorporation of the town was to provide affordable housing to the residents of the town. However, given the diversity of incomes, the plan will likely include condominiums, town homes and apartments.

Council members intend to study the guidelines that Telluride, Colorado used to determine guidelines for eligibility for the affordable units, and inquire from Telluride residents on how their system has worked.

The Tusayan Town Council is working with a site planner and a landscape architect to determine the best layout for the different types of housing. The town will seek public and legal review for the plans, which Reuter hopes to have drawn up within 30 days. “I’ve heard no other ideas besides residential housing, some of it would be manufactured housing or modular homes,” says Reuter.
