Drew Industries Has Record Year

drew-industries-logoDrew Industries, Inc., parent company of several companies that make items for the manufactured home and recreational vehicle industries reported record sales for 2014 and a $12 million gain in income.

Goshen News tells MHProNews that the Elkhart, Indiana, company had net sales for the year ended Dec. 31 increased by $175 million, or 17%, to a record $1.19 billion, primarily due to the 20% increase in net sales of Drew’s RV segment. Excluding the impact of acquisitions, Drew’s RV segment net sales increased 16%, compared to the 12% increase in industrywide wholesale shipments of travel trailers and fifth-wheel RVs.

Drew completed four acquisitions in 2014, which added $36 million in net sales to its RV segment. The company also grew outside its core RV and manufactured housing markets, with aggregate net sales of components for adjacent industries increasing 14% to $138 million and aftermarket net sales increasing 63 % to $64 million. These markets now account for 17% of consolidated net sales, an increase from 10% of consolidated net sales in 2010.

Drew Industries owns Zieman Manufacturing, one of the country’s largest builders of manufactured home chassis built to meet or exceed HUD standards.  They also own Lippert Components which builds doors and windows for manufactured homes. Kinro Composites builds thermo-formed sinks, bathtubs and showers for manufactured housing.  ##
