Because hers is a high risk pregnancy, Amanda Bernier is in the hospital until the birth, according to shorelinetimes.com, whereupon she will return to a brand new modular home, twice the size of the house she left. She and her husband’s home—Chris Bernier is also a first responder– was demolished to make way for the new three-section modular home, paid for by over 2,177 donations totaling nearly $204,000. The 1,580 square foot home, custom-made by Excel Homes of Liverpool, Penn., is being readied thanks to an outpouring of volunteers from different trades, as MHProNews has learned. Tom Wilcox of Shoreline Modular Homes was instrumental in helping design the home. He says, “Who cares for the caregivers when they are sick? They’re out there putting their lives on the line to help people … but when it comes down to them, who’s there for them?” ##
